We're Hiring!!!

Position:          Operations Manager

CureARS and Channeling Hope Foundation will be sharing this resource 50% time allocated to each organization.

Overview of the Organizations:

  • Channeling Hope Foundation (50%): The Channeling Hope Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded by parents to build a global community of families and researchers to advance care and develop treatments for individuals affected by NALCN Channel-related disorders. NALCN Channel-related disorders are caused by mutations affecting the NALCN ion channel that result in severe neurodevelopmental diseases. The vision of Channeling Hope Foundation is a future free from NALCN Channel-related disorders. Key values include collaboration, ambition, transparency, and inclusion.

  • CureARS (50%): CureARS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2021 by two moms with the goal of saving their kid's lives. Daphne Magee (EARS2 mutation) and Aubrie Rowland (AARS2 mutation) are both young girls affected by the ARS gene family. Mitochondrial (mt) Aminoacyl tRNA Synthetase (ARS) genes are essential for the cells in the body to make energy within the mitochondria. Inherited mutations in these genes cause ultra-rare types of Mitochondrial Disease (Mito). Mitochondria are essentially the "powerhouse" in our bodies or the "batteries" to sustain life. If the body does not receive the proper energy it needs for cellular function, cells begin to die, eventually leading to organ failure. High energy organs need more energy to function, and these organs may sustain more injury. Mitochondrial ARS genes all affect the brain, but can involve multiple organ systems in the body.  Currently, there is no treatment and no cure for these conditions.
